Richard England

Richard has been named as a Recommended Lawyer for Family Law in the West Midlands in Legal 500, where they note he is “very clever” and has “a brilliant business mind” as well as being “very professional and also speaks normal language which is a huge advantage”.

Richard advises a broad spectrum of clients, from families and working professionals to business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and those with international connections. He specialises in financial settlements on divorce, with particular expertise in complex cases involving business interests, trusts, and overseas assets. He also advises on cohabitation disputes, prenuptial and living together agreements. With wide-ranging experience across both straightforward and highly complex matters, Richard supports clients, helping them make informed, confident decisions even in challenging family circumstances.

Richard is a trained mediator and has considerable experience working with clients through mediation — both formal and informal — as well as arbitration hearings and private Financial Dispute Resolution hearings. He believes strongly that non-court dispute resolution offers clients an opportunity to settle matters in a cost-effective, timely, and less stressful way, while still working within a clear legal framework.

Richard qualified as a Legal Executive in 1997 and then as a solicitor in October 2007. He joined Woolley & Co in October 2012 after building his reputation in respected family law firms across the Midlands.
